sheme ventures into the Nu ethnic group in Fugong, Yunnan.
Immersed in the surroundings of the Nujiang River, we breathe in unison with the local inhabitants, witnessing the pride of Nu song and dance,
upheld by cultural heritage practitioners who proudly say,
"If you can speak, you can sing; if you can walk, you can dance."
Drawing inspiration from the ancient art discovered during
our cultural exploration—Lásidǐ cliff paintings—we have abstracted
the essence of
Nu customs and traditions into the soul of our shoe designs,
creating the new "Nu Song and Dance" series.
The designer pays homage to the traditional Chinese "cloud shoulder" structure, vividly connecting the Nu people's spirit of unity with
nature and harmony between heaven and humanity.
In a meticulous workshop, master artisans spent a month crafting
exquisite Shu embroidery, using 29 colors of thread and employing six stitching techniques
—shading stitch, dot stitch, rolling stitch, seed stitch, among others.
Interweaving silk and metallic threads, they transformed musical sensations into airborne melodies.
Over a thousand hand-set crystals, as radiant as a starry sky,
add brilliance to the piece. This diverse fusion captures the millennia-old
culture of the Nu people, embodying the profound heritage with exquisite craftsmanship and thoughtful design.
