On a trip to Kenya in 1997, our founder, Linda Liu, witnessed a sight that would change her life: thousands of pink flamingos taking flight, a spectacular and graceful ballet against the sky. In that fleeting instant, she was filled with a profound sense of elegance, independence, and strength. A feeling so powerful, she knew she had to share it with women across the globe. This was the birth of sheme.

Our vision was clear: to create a brand deeply rooted in the richness of Chinese culture, yet dedicated to the modern woman. Our journey begins not on a design table, but in the heart of ancient traditions. We draw inspiration from the deep symbolism woven into Chinese heritage: the plum blossom for resilience, the orchid for refined beauty, the bamboo for integrity. Our master artisans in Chengdu, the historic home of Sichuan embroidery, bring these symbols to life. They command centuries-old crafts like Sichuan Shu embroidery and the art of leather weaving, transforming ancient stories into contemporary art.

A sheme shoe is, above all, a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Our signature is the art of embroidering directly onto the finest leather and silk – a canvas where others see a boundary. Each stitch is a brushstroke, meticulously applied by hand. In what we call "the language of the needle," techniques like the delicate Suspended Stitch, the masterful Halo Stitch, and cross gold embroidery create patterns of breathtaking depth and three-dimensionality. Complemented by hand-woven leather knots and the sparkling purity of the finest Swarovski crystals, every pair is a testament to the patient pursuit of perfection.
