Sheme’s Cultural Journey Through 56 Ethnic Groups | Chapter Nine

Sheme launches the ninth season of its renowned
Cultural Journey Through 56 Ethnic Groups.
Under the visionary leadership of Linda, the brand’s
founder and creative director, the team traveled to Dechang,
Liangshan in Sichuan Province to explore t
he rich traditions of the Lisu ethnic group.

Seamlessly blending the ancient intangible heritage of the
Lisu people — fireweed fiber weaving — with the exquisite
artistry of Shu embroidery, Sheme reinterprets these traditions
within the context of modern international fashion.

For the Spring/Summer 2025 season,
Sheme proudly presents the original designs of its
exclusive collection
"The Tale of Natural Fibre":
Museum Collection,
 Party,
Casual,
and Sports.

Rooted in the philosophy of returning to nature
and embracing a sustainable lifestyle,
The Tale of Natural Fibre collection
invites people to slow down,
 reconnect with themselves, and
rediscover the beauty and authenticity of life.

Creative Inspiration & Cultural Heritage

The Spring/Summer 2025 collection
 "The Tale of Natural Fibre"
features fireweed fibers carefully
selected and refined through a traditional process.
In over twenty meticulous steps
— from handpicking and delicate fiber
extraction to weaving — the raw material
is transformed into luxurious fireweed fabric.
Thanks to a 100% handcrafted process,
each pair of shoes carries a unique texture and vivid character.

Tradition in Dialogue with Modernity

With utmost precision and attention to detail,
our designers interweave the intangible heritage
 of fireweed craftsmanship and
Shu embroidery into a harmonious unity.
The delicate interplay between fireweed velvet
and organza creates an elegant fusion of
textures that embodies grace and serenity.
A touch of sophistication is revealed through
the detachable leaf design — once removed,
it unveils the essence of untamed nature.

Intangible Heritage Meets Fashion

In an elaborate month-long process,
experienced embroiderers used 28 vibrant
threads and seven intricate embroidery
techniques to create dynamic, three-dimensional leaves.
This masterful craftsmanship breathes
new life into the traditional fireweed fabric of
the Lisu people and celebrates the strength,
elegance, and boundless energy of the modern woman.
